Jerry Colonna + Dan Harris

Leadership and the Art of Growing Up

Wednesday, July 10, 2019
7:00 PM–8:30 PM
Sold Out

What happens when leaders who hold structural power fail to develop their inner power and let bad psychological habits run amok? Venture capitalist turned executive coach Jerry Colonna calls upon CEOs and others to embrace the experience of being challenged to grow, to rethink the structures of their lives, and to make peace with their demons: the psychological habits and long-held patterns that have helped them to succeed yet have been detrimental to their relationships and ultimate well-being.

How? Colonna shares with ABC anchor Dan Harris the tools of inquiry—inspired by Buddhism, Jungian therapy and more—that all of us can use to tap into our unconscious minds, help unmask ourselves, and enhance our sense of community.

This program marks the launch of Jerry Colonna’s new book REBOOT: Leadership and the Art of Growing Up. There will be a book signing after the talk.

Presented together with Naropa University.

Before Flatiron, Jerry co-founded CMGI@Ventures. He lives in Boulder, Colorado.

Dan Harris is a co-anchor for Nightline and the weekend edition of Good Morning America on ABC News, as well as host of ABC’s 500 Questions. He is also the author of 10% Happier, a #1 New York Times bestselling book about a fidgety, skeptical news anchor who stumbles upon meditation. Recently, Harris launched an app specifically designed to teach meditation to doubters and busy people. With meditation and mindfulness now being embraced by executives, athletes, educators and entertainers, Harris has become a leading voice for pushing for the practice into the mainstream, using plain English and dry humor. Previously, Harris was the anchor of the Sunday edition of World News. He regularly contributes stories on ABC for such shows as 20/20, World News Tonight with David Muir, and the weekday edition of Good Morning America. Harris grew up outside of Boston and currently lives with his wife, Bianca, and their son, Alexander, in New York City. This is his third appearance at the Rubin.
